LizzieBtv Interviews Ingrid & Isabel Founder Ingrid Carney
When I was pregnant with my first daughter some five plus years ago one of the first pregnancy products I bought was a Bella Band by Ingrid & Isabel. I can remember walking into Mom’s the Word boutique in San Francisco some time around my first trimester and I was soooo wanting to buy maternity clothes. The gal at the counter took one look at me and giggled. She said I was a bit premature for buying maternity but if my jeans were starting to feel a little snug I might want to check out this new product called the Bella Band. I snapped up two that very second. One in white and the other in black. I thought the Bella Band was the coolest invention ever for pregnant women and started telling all my pregnant friends about it.
A lot has changed for Ingrid & Isabel in the last few years. They’ve expanded their product line to include tanks, camisoles and leggings. And this year they took an eco-conscious approach and released an organic cotton Bella Band. Last month, I sat down with Ingrid Carney, the founder of Ingrid & Isabel while I was attending the ABC Kids Expo in Las Vegas. We talked about her product line but more importantly we talked about the tug of war all working mother’s face when they’re launching a business including her three most important tips for every mom inventor.

I liked Bella Band when I was pregnant, but a product I liked even better was called Belly Ups. They held my pants up properly and were much more comfortable to me than keeping my pants unbuttoned and wrapping a band around them (plus they are half the price). Oh, and I still am wearing them, even after I have had my daughter, with my low rise jeans. So much bending over with a baby and no one needs to see my tush – I still got some work to do on it. haha. Anyway, thats just my 2 cents
