Lake Tahoe Winter Road Trip

If you live on the East Coast you may be sick of the snow by now but for a lot of us folks living out West – it’s a rare treat. Last week, while the kids were on winter break I decided to pack up the kids and head to Lake Tahoe in search of some snow.  Here’s a little video recap of our trip north. It involved lots o’ driving, sledding, my daughter’s first ski lesson, getting back up on a snowboard after a 4-year hiatus, a little lip-synching and even an appearance by “Big Papa.” LOL, I’m not sure why I just called my hubby “Big Papa?” Must be missing those crazy Housewives of Atlanta! Anyway, it was a brutal drive but loads of fun!

  1. We live on the East Coast and have been slammed with snow. Nevertheless we have had fun in it and we even took the kids snow tubing at a ski resort last weekend. Glad your kids (they are adorable BTW) had such a great time.

Too cute. To tell you the truth, I am not looking forward to 5+ hours drives with multiple potty breaks no matter how cool Tahoe is :)

Thanks so much Alexes for all those kind words! You’re always so sweet and supportive. Yes, Lake Tahoe is in Nevada – well, half of it is. Love Lake Tahoe – just wish it was closer.

You’re welcome Liberty! Yes, the girls enjoyed their time in the snow. Sometimes as an adult you forget what it’s like to experience something for the very first time – makes you feel like a kid all over again:)
And don’t worry, the coat didn’t get anywhere near the slopes!

    Amy, Meredith & Christine,
Thanks for checking out a slice of our family winter get away. T’was fun but soooo exhausting! Must say we were pretty thrilled that we got our gal up on skis doing “pizza and french fries.” I have no doubt she’ll be passing me on the slopes in no time. And the Pirates hat is a gift from the hubby – his family is from PA!! Woot!Woot!

“Big Papa”? Haa! I love the Real Housewives too (all)! Wow, impressive snowboarding. Sad, but I’ve never played in the snow. I’m such a sissy when it comes to cold weather. Looks like your family had a blast!
