What I Wear to Preschool Drop-Off (It’s not Pretty)

Clearly, I have no shame - I'm humiliating myself and showing off what I really where to preschool drop off. Fortunately, for me I do "not" have to get out of the car for drop off or else I'd embarrass myself and my kids. Please tell me you're not coiffed from head to toe when you drop-off? Puh-lease!

You’re so lucky! We have to get out of the car for drop-off! Oh, the pressure!

  2. April says:

Oh Lizzie! That is so funny! You are exactly like me except… I have no shame. I DO have to get out of the car and yes in my jammies. It is past embarrassing. On the days when I am “dressed” I get comments like, “wow April, are you going some place special today?” or “you look nice…”. My favorite out fit is my ugg boots, lounge pants, hoodie, sunglasses, cami or shirt of some sort because I would clearly not need a bra with such wonderful attire. The best days are when I actually return to school for pick up in the SAME outfit. LOL. My baby is usually sporting his jammies around the lunch hour many days as well. Oh, how I love to work from home.
    The raw truth, enjoy. AB

  3. Yup. You don’t even want to see me in the morning. Perhaps I will record myself tomorrow.
It isn’t pretty either. And i don’t even have a pre school drop off. I just get the kids off to the busstop.
I like the sticker. Sounds like me!
    I LOVE your videos.
    Thanks lizzie!

LOL OMG You girls made my day! Lizzie Puh-lease! You don`t even have to get out of the car? wow. You are so lucky. Nice Pj`s by the way.

April Yes! That is so me too! I see the teachers look up twice when I come in “dressed” . They give me the silent treatment. Just the look, might be worse then just saying what is on your mind.
Indeed the best days are picking up the kids in the same shameless outfit I brought them to school in the morning. LOL.

    Great subject Liz.

    Amy, April, Alexes & Linda,
So glad that you all feel my pain! Oh, and I forgot to mention that I don’t dare talk to anyone – because most mornings I haven’t even brushed my darn teeth!!! Ohhhh, the humanity!

  6. Dolly says:

I wear my ROBE to the car-and my kids forbid me from taking off my safety belt:) I can sooooo relate to PJ’s and slippers in the morning. It’s comfy to wear this-and my only prayers is that I’m not pulled over for a ticket…or asked to “Step away from the vehicle”.

  7. Ros says:

Oh yes, the good ol’ hat & sunglasses trick. Yup… that’s me too except I have to get out of my car, so the pj’s are out (frats!!) which means more work to get dressed for school drop off (major frats!!!). Funny thing, I had a pimple dead center on my cheek. Now tell me why in my adulthood am I having zit breakouts? Like I don’t have enough issues to deal with. =)

  8. OMGosh! I am SO like you! One of my kids said the other day, ” Mom, why do you wear the same sweatshirt every morning to drop us off?” I throw it over my jammies, and go! Plus, there’s a different teacher standing outside every day so they don’t know I wear the same sweatshirt! Thankfully, I don’t have to get out of the car either, unless we’re late. It’s a great motivator to be on time! Love the vlog!

  9. Lagunatic says:

Dude, I wish! We have to take our kids directly to their rooms! Thank goodness for big sunglasses, or I’d get kicked out of the place!
Love your jammies – especially the flower sticker :D

So, here’s what I’ve learned so far…. I’m definitely “not” the only one rockin’ the killer mommy dropoff outfit in the morning. And thank God I don’t have to get out of the car like some of you ladies – I’d be kicked out of school for sure!

  11. Suzette says:

I long for those days when I could drop off my kids in jammies or street jammies (sweats). Now, after the kids have driven themselves to school I get to stay in my pjs ’till 10ish.

    Wha?!

    Such a luxury!

Glad I found your site, and thanks for dropping by mine to share your thoughts on my teen’s hair color. Ugh!

  12. I get out of the car, so I have to switch up my “mommy” sweat shirts! Rotation baby. Rotation!

  13. Jessica says:

I still get out of the car and let me say that my collection of sweatpants is the envy of all who know me

  14. Lizzie, you are hilarious that you went there with this! PJs and slippers to school is some kind of rite of passage for us moms! ;)

When my oldest was at preschool, I was a jammie mama in the mornings too- barely got out of bed to drive her to school. Now, with three of them, I actually have to get up at 6:30 to take the big girls to school so I live in my Lulu Lemon workout duds. (Sometimes I work out, sometimes not… but if the clothes are on the chances are greater that the gym happens after drop off!)
But, let me tell you the PJ days still tempt me :) See you around SF in our sunglasses and hats! LOL

  15. Tara Bucci says:

hahaha I’m dying! Isa’s not in preschool yet :( Were hoping she gets in this fall (darn waiting lists) BUT when I do…thanks for the thankful for tips! So funny and LOVE the sticker btw. I literally lol at that part! ha! your great!

  16. Kris says:

Girl- you are so gorgeous it would not even matter! Hey, I’m right there with ya on the whole preschool drop-off deal. Those teachers are SMART! I am an absolute mess in the morning! :)

  17. Valerie says:

I am SO jealous that you don’t have to get out of the car at drop-off! I know I look downright scary when I drop my son off most days. I don’t have much shame either so I may vlog about it one day.

  18. admin says:

Valerie, Yes, I’m lucky!! Unfortunately, a few times I have had to get out of the car and let’s just say “it wasn’t purty!!” LOL
