About Lizzie

My Family
Who is Lizzie B? Well, the road that led me to my new project and passion, wasn’t a straight one. Until a few years ago, I was a busy TV news anchor and reporter in San Francisco. Now, I’m a full-time mom to two little girls and wife to an incredibly patient man. I had always planned to continue working in the TV news industry while raising my family because I’ve always been a person who thrived off of work. The stress, the adrenaline, the deadlines, the chaos – I loved it all. For me, working made me a better person, and in turn, a better mom.
But somewhere between having my first daughter and going back to work, I got postpartum depression. And boy, did it send me into a tailspin. My excitement and joy for being a working mom was quickly replaced with a deep, dark and heavy sadness that I just couldn’t shake. I thought quitting my job and focusing on my family would help me snap out of it. But I was wrong. Only after therapy and a lot of emotional support did I finally get back on track.
About this time is when I started working as a freelance parenting and family reporter. I really wanted to foster an open and honest dialogue between real moms—to talk about the good, the bad and the ugly sides of motherhood without fear of being judged. I started with myself and just kept rolling from there.
Those first inspirations have led me to my newest venture, lizziebtv.com, a video blog site that comes straight from the heart. It’s the place I get to share my real mom insights, while still enjoying the satisfaction that comes from working. It’s the best of both my worlds.
In my spare time (ha!), I also double as a freelance parenting contributor for ABC-7’s The View From the Bay and make guest appearances on “Home with Lisa Quinn,” a nationally syndicated show on the LiveWellHD network. You can also find my mommy videos online at sites like Mommytrackd.com and trueMOMconfessions.com.
