Why I Love NYC & Going on a Girls Weekend!

I’m not sure if it’s because I spent soooo many years being single (fyi, I didn’t marry til my mid 30’s) or if it’s just my personality. But one of my favorite things about going away on a girls weekend is that I know I’ll get to spend some serious “alone” time. Whether I’m sitting in a cab, waiting for a flight or taking a leisurely walk – I take great pleasure in being all by myself. Don’t get me wrong, I love my girl time (as you can see in this video) but I also love just chilling out and taking in new sights all by lonesome too. It really feeds my soul.

So, tell me have you ever gone away on a “girls weekend?” If so, what was one of your favorite things to do. If not, what would be your idea of the perfect “girls weekend?”

It’s Wednesday! Time to Get Your Vlog On

I love that she took a couple of every day observations and turned them into a funny video riff. She’s relaxed and comfy and just talks to the video camera like it’s a real person – I loved it. So, in case you missed it, here it is:

Okay, I also have to give a huge shout out to Carissa who featured her very “first” vlog – if you haven’t seen it – I’m sure you’ll find it all too familiar. And Brandy rocked the vlog review. It’s rare these days to see mom bloggers giving honest reviews talking about both the good and bad in a product – thank you for your honesty!

The Secret to Connecting With Your Viewers While Vlogging!

For those new to vlogging – one of the most important and difficult things to do is maintain steady eye contact with the camera lens. If you don’t make that connection with your viewers – you can lose them in a second. Well, no need to worry. I’ve got a secret that’s sure to help take your vlogs up a notch. Are you ready to hear what it is? If you are, click on the video below for all the details. If you’re not up for watching a quick video and want me to reveal the secret right here – then here it goes. Find a small photo of your mom or a friend and tape it to your laptop so that the image is right above the lens of your webcam on your computer. I know it sounds silly but if you tape a picture of someone you’re comfortable chatting up -  have their image right above your lens, you’ll have someone to focus on.  So, the next time you vlog, instead of staring at the itty bitty dark lens – focus on the picture you have right above your lens – it’ll make conversing on camera so much easier. Go ahead give it a try – let me know what you think.

Get Your Vlog On (Trying Again)

I don’t know about you but I know every time I plan to take a girls trip out of town all hell breaks loose on the home front. Just last week, I was trying to get ready to leave for New York and everything that could go wrong did. Is it just me or do you feel my pain sista’s? Here’s a quick vlog post of me sitting in my car outside my daughter’s ballet class trying to keep it together.

Before I go any further, I have to thank all you lovely gals who linked up here last Wednesday. I’m sooooo sorry but I had to delete the entire linky post because my site got wiped out by the link code. So, here we are one week later (with fingers & toes crossed) hoping this one will work.
