Baby Planners Unite

If your baby-making years are behind you then you probably haven’t even noticed but the Baby Planner industry is a booming new market. It’s not just the rich and famous turning to these baby gurus for help and guidance – it’s every day moms like you and I. Last month at the ABC Kids Expo in Vegas I caught up with two gals in the Baby Planning industry, Melissa Moog and April Beach. These working moms recently formed the National Baby Planner Associatio. The NBPA helps set standards in the baby industry, provides support and brings together a network of like-minded baby planners.

More Tips for New Moms Going Back to Work

I recently posted a video about tips for new moms heading back to work. It’s not surprising, several moms wrote in saying it was one of the toughest things they ever had to do. One mom (Susy) even shared her tips on returning to work afer the baby. By the way, Suzy is a mom of a 4-and-a-half year old son. She was working at a construction company when she went back to work – which wasn’t very “mom friendly” at the time. Suzy helped lead the way in making changes at her company and here are her tips.

  • Expect to be hormonal and moody
  • Ease back into work with a flex schedule (if you ask, some employers will let you ramp up your hours)
  • Figure out where you’ll pump (Hard to believe but some employers don’t have a designated pumping location for new moms)
  • Go online (there are plenty of mom support groups to help you manage the joy and frustration of being a new working mom)
