Lizziebtv: Last Minute Christmas Shopping

Yes, it’s true. I’ve been down for the count the past two weeks. And when you’re a known procrastinator like myself that’s never good – especially around the holidays. Not sure if it was the medication that zapped my brain cells or just a bout of motherhood insanity? Regardless, what I did earlier today was absolutely N-U-T-S!!

Helping Out the New Kid On The Block

I can’t begin to tell you how many times I’ve thought “Hey, I really need to send an email to so and so and thank them for their time and help…” And then I realize a month or two later that I never said thanks! Soooo, right now at this very second I’m gonna take the time to thank all the wonderful people who have helped me launch my Mom Video blog. Some of these people I’ve known for quite some time but most I just sent an email outa the blue and crossed my fingers that they replied. Really, without the help of these folks listening, guiding and helping – who knows where I’d be?? So, here’s my list of “thank-you’s” in no particular order:

  • Amy Keroes of Mommytracked.com – My cheerleader and supporter ever since the day we met.
  • Romi Lassally of Truumomconfessions.com - My other cheerleader and supporter. Plus she’s so damn fun and sassy!
  • Clay Nichols of Dadlabs.com - He’s wry and witty. He’s got a big heart and so incredibly talented, kind and helfpul.
  • Kimberley Clayton Blaine of Thegotomom.com - A lovely gal that’s willing to help just about anyone out plus she’s got a great laugh!
  • Daryn Kagan of DarynKagan.com - This former CNN news anchor reminded me that I can re-invent myself and do anything!
  • Emily Roemmich of Busy-Mommy.com – So kind and patient. She took the time to answer all my ridiculous questions. Plus she’s a night owl – like me!
  • Heather of ThetaMom.com – You can feel her joy and energy in her emails and posts. Yet another helpful Mommy!

I’ve been Kashi-fied

images
I know my close friends and family are going to find it hard to believe but it’s official, I’ve been “Kashi-fied!” No, really I have. And it didn’t take long. Earlier this week, I took part in Kashi’s All-Natural Adventure for Mommy Bloggers in La Jolla. Talk about Uh-May-Zing! The folks from Kashi know how to do things up right. Our first morning started bright and early with sun salutations on the La Jolla Shores. There we were, six Mommy Bloggers getting our stretch on and not a screaming child in sight! I’ve never experienced anything so beautiful and peaceful.

Our morning yoga on the beach was followed up with a yummy, crunchy Kashi breakfast. My personal favorite, some plain yogurt with a mix of Apple Orchard Granola and Go Lean Crunch sprinkled on top. Dee-Lish! While we fueled up on Kashi goodness, David de Souza (Kashi GM) took a few minutes to thank and welcome us. He was followed up by Karen Moyer and Keegan Sheridan, two Kashi gals who taught us about the history of the company (for example, did you know Kashi was started by husband & wife/former bodybuilders, Phil & Gayle Tauber) and what it means for Kashi to make healthy, natural foods. Talk about an awakening. The company uses the following Nutrition Philosophy as a guide to creating new products.

  • All Natural
  • Positive Nutrition
  • 7 Whole Grains are Better than One
  • No Blanket Fortification

Needless to say we learned quite a bit about Kashi, including some new product releases and ones they’re working on. But I’ll save those for another post so stay tuned!
