I hate Zhu Zhu Pets

Yep, those are the little suckers kids (a.k.a. Zhu Zhu Pets) are swooning for this holiday season. Well, at least my girls are or they were. My husband was supposed to keep both “Pip Squeak and Num-Num” as they are affectionately called under wraps til Christmas but he just couldn’t wait! A couple of weeks ago while daddy’s little gals were wrapping him around their proverbial finger – he got weak and handed over the hidden loot. After a few eye rolls and several heavy sighs I got over it and we went about our day.

Pip Squeak and Num-Num were insta-family pets. I thought it was silly and kinda cute so I just rolled with it.  The girls played for hours with the furry fake critters. They kept them by their side during breakfast and dinner and made a special place for them in their beds. And then it happened. Pip Squeak and Num Num freakin’ disappeared! If these were real live hamsters I’d understand why they’d want to make a mad dash from our house but these are fake hamsters people and they’re gone. Under normal circumstances I wouldn’t care (shoot, they were only 8-bucks each) but my 4-year daughter is acting like she’s been dumped by George Clooney! The tears, the long face, the moping… Uggggggggggg!

Soooo, that my friends is why I hate Zhu Zhu Pets.
